One of the greatest challenges for a data analytics platform is to meet the needs of different types of analysts in the market. Over the past year we have been working to explore different ways to overcome this challenge. Our efforts to better understand the needs of our customers has launched a new chapter in the story of the Stratifyd platform.

Today, we open the next chapter with the release of Intuitive Transformation. We aimed to make our platform intuitive and easy-to-use, allowing users of all skill levels to connect their data, analyze it, and discover insightful stories faster and easier than ever before. After uncovering your data’s hidden stories, we are introducing the first of many ways to continue listening for changes in those stories. This article provides a quick description of the changes and improvements included in this release.

Home Page and Quick Start Guide

The first thing you will notice is a refreshed Home page (Fig. 1), which now includes a Quick Start Guide that walks first-time users through the process of connecting data, deploying analytical models, and visualizing insights as they build their first dashboard step-by-step. Once complete, any user in the platform will have the working knowledge to find value and travel the path to long-term success in surfacing data stories. Whether you are a first-time user, or you plan to expand your team by inviting more others to join the platform, rest assured, the Quick Start Guide will lead new users in the right direction every time. If you ever need a refresher you can restart this quick start guide from account settings.

You will also notice an update notification view to simplify how you see and sort your recent updates with shortcuts to create dashboards and streams. We want to make sure you always have access to the help you need and have implemented easy access to start help chat and connect to our new Help Center.

Staying oriented when working in a platform should never be a challenge. With the introduction of a simplified left-side navigation panel (see Fig. 2) we’ve ensured that users will always be able to quickly find their way. By making it easy to jump between sections from any view, users won’t ever lose track of where they are in the platform. This new navigation is persistent on every page, so you are guaranteed to always be able to find your way.

Dashboard - Data Settings Panel

We reimagined what the process should look like when connecting data, deploying analytical models, and visualizing insights with the new Data Settings panel (Fig. 3). This new panel guides you through all three sections: connect, analyze and discover, and also allows you to continue through each step without having to wait for each individual process to complete prior to starting the next step.

Connect: Allows you to quick-add data from a new or existing stream.

Analyze: Quick add Stratifyd models, Taxonomy models, or custom models. Stratifyd models have updated to include:

• Auto-Topic Prediction – formerly NLU

• Sentiment Prediction (NN based)

• Senitment Prediction (Lexicon based)

• Geographical Heat Analysis

• N-Gram Generator

• Language Detection

• User Analysis

Discover: Quick add from a list of available insights (widgets) which update based on models that have been setup. The selected available insights will automatically add widgets to your dashboard and populate with data when the analysis is complete.

You can still also add widgets outside of this settings panel through the “+” button on your dashboard.

Filter Panel

To help make filters faster and easier to add, edit, or remove, we’ve redesigned the filter panel (see Fig. 4) to display any applied filters along the top of your dashboard. Global filters can be accessed on the in-dashboard side navigation menu (see Fig. 6) as well.

Quick-Access Dashboard Commands

To make functions like sharing, exporting, playing, or comparing dashboards and insights easier to execute, we’ve added a collection of shortcut buttons along the top of your dashboard (see Fig. 5). With quicker, more intuitive access to these quick triggers, users can now share dashboards, insights, and information immediately across teams or departments.

In-Dashboard Side Navigation

The side navigation menu (Fig. 6) inside dashboards now includes instant navigation shortcuts to make accessing key elements of your workflow faster and easier. This includes updated access to the widget editor, stories, task manager, taxonomy editor, and predictive models.

Stories

The new “Stories” feature allows users to save collections of frequently used filters for future use. Saving filters in a Story lets you group multiple filters together so that you can easily apply them to different dashboards in the future. Do you have a set of filters that you use on a regular basis? Are you preparing for a presentation and want to share a specific collection of insights you’ve discovered? Stories make it easy. Plus, side-panel access (see Fig. 7) allows you to quickly access or edit the Stories you’ve already saved.

Task Management

We’re especially excited to introduce the platform’s newest feature: Task Management (Fig. 8). We know it can be difficult for teams to organize efforts and track progress, so we’ve simplified the process for you with the new Task Management functionality. This capability lets you assign, update, and track tasks to completion. Tasks can be added from the Task Management tab, or from dashboards, and can be linked to individual records from the data tab view within a dashboard.

Data Tab

Since all great insights start with data, we’ve made it simpler to view your original data by redesigning the user interface to make the data tab more clear (see Fig. 9). So now, you can switch between Card and Table views, and can export your raw data with speed and ease. Additionally, the export options have been improved to include export to CSV and to PowerBI.

Data Library

The data library has been updated to an easy to explore format where you can browse all available data connectors by category. The new My Data section shows all of your available and existing data streams.

Visual Theme

Our users love to exercise the dark theme option on their dashboards—so, we listened! As a result, we’re excited to offer the dark theme across the entire platform (see Fig. 10). This means that now, users can apply the dark theme option to all screens, menus, or tabs in the Stratifyd tool at once, not just to dashboards. Choosing the light or dark theme can be done at any time and in any stage of your workflow via the Settings menu, located in My Account.

Admin Settings

Finally, the Admin Console (Fig. 11) has also been updated to make it easier to manage the finer details of how your organization uses Stratifyd. New security settings have been added to each account which allows you to see user activity history, including all sessions by data, IP address and location for each user in your account. User registration settings has been updated to allow you to add email domains for users you choose for simple email validation registration as well as password rule control to give you more control of your password requirements and security.

User Account Settings

Groups has moved to the user settings which allows used with proper permissions to create and edit groups within their organization. Additionally, new User Interface setting under the settings section allows the user to toggle between Light and Dark modes.

Help Section

The help section has been updated to allow for easy chat conversations with your customer success manager as well as quick access to our new and improved Help Center. Additionally, there is a What’s New section added to showcase the latest new features.
