Description

Use the Yelp connector to retrieve and analyze customer feedback on businesses reviewed on Yelp.

 

Data limitations

Yelp does not impose limitations on the amount of data that you can pull, but for businesses with a very large number of reviews you may want to limit it yourself using the Comment Limit option or by narrowing the date range.

 

If you have issues with no data, try widening your date range on the second page of the wizard.

 

Input fields

When setting up the connector, provide the URL of the business or businesses for which you want to analyze customer reviews. 

• Yelp Store URL: On the Yelp web site, navigate to the business and from the address bar, copy the URL, then paste it into this field.

• Add new search: To analyze multiple locations of the business or multiple businesses, click this as many times as needed to add more URLs.

• Upload: Click to upload a file containing a list of business URLs. Takes a TXT file with one URL per line.
  (CSV is also acceptable, but it must have one URL per line.)

• Comment Limit: It is a good practice to set a limit on the number of comments returned.

You can change your date range on the second page of the wizard, or optionally Schedule data crawls to update your data stream periodically.

• Description: Number of people who marked the review as Cool.

• Description: Date and time on which the review was crawled in numeric format.

• Description: Type of cuisine served.

• Description: Data source of the review.

Date

• Description: Date and time of the review in numeric format.

FeaturedFoodInfo

• Description: Returns information on any featured menu items.

FunnyCount

• Description: Number of people who marked the review as Funny.

OpeningYear

• Description: Year the business first opened.

• Category: meta

OwnerInfo

• Description: Name and short biography of the business owner.

OwnerReply

• Description: Free-form text of the owner's response to the review.

PriceRange

• Description: Price range of the food or service.
