Description

Use the Auction connector to retrieve and analyze product reviews on the Auction Co. web site.

This connector works only on the Korean website: http://auction.co.kr/ 

Data Limitations

Auction Co. does not impose limitations on the amount of data that you can pull, but for products with a lot of reviews, you may want to limit it yourself using the Comment Limit option or by narrowing the date range.

If you have issues with no data, try widening your date range on the second page of the wizard.

Input fields

When setting up the connector, provide the URL of the product or products for which you want to analyze customer reviews. 

  • Auction Item URL: On the Auction.co.kr web site, navigate to the product and from the address bar, copy the URL, then paste it into this field.

  • Add new search: To analyze multiple product varieties or multiple products, click this as many times as needed to add more URLs.

  • Upload: Click to upload a file containing a list of product URLs. Takes a TXT file with one URL per line.
    (CSV is also acceptable, but it must have one URL per line.)

  • Comment Limit: It is a good practice to set a limit on the number of comments returned.

You can change your date range on the second page of the wizard, or optionally Schedule data crawls to update your data stream periodically.

This connector returns the following fields that you can use in analysis.

Country

  • Description: Nationality of the reviewer.

  • Category: meta

  • Example: Korean

crawler_time_stamp

  • Description: Date and time on which the review was crawled in numeric format.

  • Category: meta

  • Example: 1580331182061

Date

  • Description: Date and time of the review in numeric format.

  • Category: date index

  • Example: 1578528000000

HelpfulVotes

  • Description: Number of people who found the review helpful.

  • Category: meta

  • Example: 1

ProductID

  • Description: Auction number of the product reviewed.

  • Category: meta

  • Example: B585290326

ProductName

  • Description: Auction product name of the product reviewed.

  • Category: meta

  • Example: 못난이찹쌀떡30gx60알내외/호박 쑥 흑미/떡 선물

ProductURL

  • Description: Auction URL of the product reviewed.

  • Category: meta

Rating

  • Description: Reviewer's star rating of the product.

  • Category: KPI

  • Example: 5

Review

  • Description: Free-form text of the review.

ReviewCountry

  • Description: Two-letter country code for the review.

  • Category: meta

  • Description: Title of the review.
