Description

Use the Sephora connector to retrieve and analyze customer feedback on items sold on Sephora.

 

Data limitations

This data connector supports only the US Sephora web site.

 

Sephora does not impose limitations on the amount of data that you can pull, but for products with a very large number of reviews, you may want to limit it yourself using the Comment Limit option or by narrowing the date range.

 

If you have issues with no data, try widening your date range on the second page of the wizard.

 

Input fields

When setting up the connector, provide the URL of the product or products for which you want to analyze customer reviews.

  • Sephora Product URL: On the Sephora web site, navigate to the product and from the address bar, copy the URL, then paste it into this field.

  • Add new search: To analyze multiple versions of the product or multiple products, click this as many times as needed to add more URLs.

  • Upload: Click to upload a file containing a list of product URLs. Takes a TXT file with one URL per line.
    (CSV is also acceptable, but it must have one URL per line.)

  • Comment Limit: To avoid returning too much data, it is a good practice to set a limit on the number of comments returned.

You can change your date range on the second page of the wizard, or optionally Schedule data crawls to update your data stream periodically.

This connector returns the following fields that you can use in analysis.

 

Age

  • Description: Age range of the reviewer.

  • Category: meta

  • Description: Date and time when the record was crawled in numeric format.

  • Category: meta

  • Description: Data source of the review.

  • Category: meta

  • Example: Sephora

Date

  • Description: Date and time of the review in numeric format.

  • Category: date index

EyeColor

  • Description: Eye color of the reviewer.

  • Category: meta

  • Example: brown

HairColor

  • Description: Hair color of the reviewer.

  • Category: meta

  • Example: brunette

HelpfulScore

  • Description: Number of people who found the review helpful.

  • Category: meta

  • Example: 0

NotHelpfulScore

  • Description: Number of people who did not find the review helpful.

  • Category: meta

  • Example: 0

ProductColor

  • Description: Color of the product reviewed.

  • Category: meta

ProductID

  • Description: Sephora ID of the product reviewed.

  • Category: meta

ProductName

  • Description: Sephora product name of the product reviewed.

  • Category: meta

  • Example: Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

Rating

  • Description: Number of stars out of five that the reviewer gives the product.

  • Category: KPI

  • Description: Free-form text of the review.

  • Category: text index

  • Example: Amazing Product, probably the best smelling cream I've ever used!

ReviewTitle

  • Description: Title of the review.

  • Category: text index

SephoraRank

  • Description: Sephora ranking of the reviewer.

  • Category: meta

  • Example: VIB

SkinTone

  • Description: Skin tone of the reviewer.

  • Category: meta

  • Example: light

SkinType

  • Description: Skin type of the reviewer.

UserName

  • Description: Name of the reviewer.
